What is Modular Building?

Modular is really a construction method, but instead is known most widely has a type of home. Modular construction is basically accomplished by dividing a home plan into sections called modules. These modules are small enough to be constructed indoors in a factory. Once they are completed, all of the modules are wrapped and transported to a building site where they are assembled into a mostly complete home. The precision and quality that can be achieved with factory construction is what gives modular homes a huge advantage over traditional construction. Conventional site built homes are still constructed essentially the same way they have been for almost 200 years. Building materials and lumber are dropped off in the yard at the home site and then cut, one piece at a time, and then nailed together outdoors creating the floors, walls and a roof. It takes months, and in some cases up to a year, to complete a home while the home and its materials are exposed to the elements of Oklahoma. We now know that when excessive moisture get trapped in a new home that it can lead to mold and mildew issues. This is particularly concerning for homebuyers and their families that have allergy sensitivities or respiratory issues.

Because a modular home is built indoors in a factory using factory processes, your home is precision built and the inspection and quality processes are an inherent part of the construction method. The materials and products for your home are delivered by the semi-truck load, not the pick-up truck load. Your new custom home is built with higher quality materials that were acquired for a much better price. Since your home is built indoors, not only is it protected from the rain and other elements, but so are the materials that are used to construct it. Because our homes are built in a factory, the last thing we need to do is complete the exterior of the home. We have the ability to access the exterior walls so we can seal the air infiltration locations around outlets, wiring holes, and plumbing gaps. Modular homes are just naturally more energy efficient and cost effective than homes constructed onsite and exposed to the elements.

Oklahoma – Home of the Sooners

Oklahoma was originally established as in Indian Territory. When the area was opened up in the land rush, those who tried to beat the noon starting gun were called Sooners. Today, Oklahoma still has the largest American Indian population of any state.

Oil made Oklahoma a rich state, but natural-gas production has now surpassed oil. Oklahoma’s rich farmlands produce high yields of wheat, as well as large crops of sorghum, hay, and cotton. As an inland state, Oklahoma has over 56,000 miles of shoreline. This is due to its large amount of recreational lakes. Other draws include the Will Rogers Memorial in Claremore, the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, the Cherokee Cultural Center with a restored Cherokee village, the restored Fort Gibson Stockade near Muskogee, pari-mutuel horse racing at Remington Park in Oklahoma City.
