Get to Know Impresa Modular

As a seasoned leader in custom modular homes, at Impresa Modular we pride ourselves in the ability to design, engineer and build a truly custom crafted home. Our team of expert consultants achieves this while maintaining our core beliefs of quality, customer satisfaction, service and value. We offer hundreds of standard plans, but they are used as a mere starting point to be modified by customers to meet specific lifestyle and housing needs. More often we are exploiting our modern modular construction techniques to create truly custom homes for our happy customers.

Our modular homes combine the best practices of traditional, site-built construction with the technological, economic and environmental advantages of creating your custom home in a controlled environment. The component parts in any home (for example, a light or a floor truss) are manufactured in a controlled factory environment according to precise specifications and tested to ensure that they meet industry standards. Modular homes from Impresa Modular are no different – we build our homes using similar techniques. The modular construction process results in a home that is built better, greener, faster, and with a fraction of the headaches presented by traditional, on site construction.

Creating Your Modular Home

With modular homes, in-factory construction quality is invariably better than that which is traditionally built on site. Lumber cut with a hand-held circular saw at a job site are not as precise as those cut with fixed tools in a factory. What’s more, factory inspections cover every construction feature from floor framing to final paint. Trained factory inspectors or independent third party inspectors perform more than a dozen inspections per home. Local building inspectors may only conduct three or four announced inspections on the average conventionally built home. All building materials are stored out of the weather. Wet materials stored at many on-site building locations are built into the new home resulting in warped walls, ceilings and mold problems. With modular construction your new home is built to the highest possible standard and packaged for transport to your job site.

Final quality assurance is finished at the factory, and your custom modular home is placed on your home site. Once onsite, a crane and an expert crew install your home on its foundation. Modular homes are built to withstand all of the forces of delivery to your site and being lifted by a crane. All of this was accomplished in a timeframe that was one-half to two-thirds of the duration needed by traditiona outdoor construction. Once completed, modular homes reflect the identical design intent and specifications of the most sophisticated site-built home – without compromise.

Making it Custom with Modular Homes

Impresa Modular builds custom homes. While we may have thousands of standard home plans to review, we rarely build with them. Our prospective home buyers will use those plans as a “good start” towards designing their own custom home plan or they will bring us a custom house plan from a different resource. Some will use our free design tool and create their own house plan for us to “modularize” and use it to build their custom home. We are exclusive partners with a major custom house plan company, Architectural Designs, which makes available more than 28,000 custom house plans. We have teamed up with them to develop a modular friendly custom home plan collection that gives you access to thousands of home plans that can be purchased and built using modular construction.

There is really no such thing as a modular home. Modular is a construction technique, not a type of home. Impresa Modular is a custom home builder that chooses to only use modular construction for delivery of our custom built homes. Because we are the only nationwide modular home builder we have specific experience and insights that give you an advantage. Most custom builders only build homes in small geographic areas limiting their exposure to ideas, new methods, and unique building materials. You get the benefit of our broad exposure to how custom homes are built across the country.

Energy Efficiency

A home built to the 2012 Energy Code is roughly 15 percent more efficient than a house built to the 2009 Energy Code. A house built to the 2015 Energy Code is about 50% more energy efficient than one built to the 2009 Code. Today’s new homes must be more energy efficient. By including the Energy Star certification option to your new home, you could save up to $2,000 a year in energy costs and potentially more. Impresa Modular works with you to develop the perfect living environment. Attention to details like selecting a floorplan, selecting component features, lighting and heating are part of the process that defines our energy efficient custom modular homes.

Modern modular construction means less homeowner headaches. Indoor construction in a controlled environment means exterior finishes are finished last, instead of first. We can build your new home from the inside out, just the opposite of building outdoors. What this means to you is that the exterior envelope of your new home can be designed to be more efficient. This just comes standard with modular homes and their construction process. More insulation, better sealants, and the use of high-tech materials are several of the reasons to pick the worry-free benefits of modular construction for your new home.
